Grundelhardt Layla

A small excerpt from an email from her proud owners ......

We've been taking her to Holdfast Shores Dog Club for obedience, and she's done a fantastic job - she passed her basic obedience test with flying colours - would have been full marks if she'd not decided to chase the other dog in her class when she was meant to be loose-lead walking! They use clicker-based training, and we've found she responds to it extremely well. She's booked into the advanced class to start in a few weeks time, and after that will be the Canine Good Citizen award class. The club also runs a Doggy Day Care, which she goes to once or twice a fortnight. Basically she gets to run around and be a dog with 20 other dogs for a day - the girls there think she's set the record for longest distance run in a day.

She absolutely loves swimming, whether it be at the beach, the river or (much to her disgust!) Grandma's pond.

We went to one of the SACA herding days the other weekend, and saw one of the other shepherds down there. The way she moved with the ducks was very similar to the way Layla moves with the cat, so thought it might be worth a try - will make for some good video footage and a few laughs either way!
She's still a very chewy girl, destroyed her soft toy within days, and any other toy that's outside meets the same fate, however her inside bunny has only just had the stuffing pulled out. She loves coke bottles as well. Luckily she's not discovered our shoes yet, although loves stealing socks.

Thanks again for our gorgeous girl,

Chris and Catie
